This recipe was made by my Grandma every Passover and then the recipe was passed down to my father who continued to make it every year. Now the recipe is made by me and now I'm happy to be able to share it with you.
Charoset is sweet dark colored paste made from fruits and nuts and is present on the sedar plate during Passover. For more information on the meaning and purpose of Charoset you can read all about it here in this article.
This dish can be made up to 3 days in advanced and kept in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
Ingredients
5 Medium Sweet apples, peeled and diced into very tiny pieces
1/3 rounded cup of sugar
1 rounded tablespoon of cinnamon
1/3 cup of White Grape Juice
4oz of Pecans, diced into the tiniest pieces possible
Directions
In a large mixing bowl combine all of your ingredients
Mix well
Taste and add more sugar cinnamon to your liking
Serve with matzo
