Sweet and Salty Chocolate Matzo. And they get better as the days go on. A perfect sweet and savory snack!
Ingredients:
4-5 sheets of matzo
1 cup of earth balance butter
1 cup of 365 Organic Brown Sugar
¾-1 cup of Enjoy Life Semi Sweet Mini Chips
Course Sea salt, optional
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350
Line a baking sheet with foil followed by parchment paper
Place the Matzo on the baking sheet, break in pieces to fit
In a medium sauce pan, add your butter and brown sugar
Cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes
Stir often until it begins to boil
Continue to stir for 2-3 minutes until it turns to a deep brown
Turn off heat and pour evenly over matzo
Bake matzo in pre heated oven for 10 minutes
If the matzo is smoking too much turn heat down to 325, cook for an additional 5 minutes
Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips
Let them melt for about 3- 5 minutes
Then spread the chocolate evenly on the matzo
Sprinkle with salt if desired
Break into pieces, keeping on pan and place in the freezer to set
