Who doesn't love the crunch of a Gordita?? With these tasty fillings, you will be loving every bite!
Filling ingredients:
14.5oz Can of Pinto Beans
1 beefless cube
½ cup water
1 packaged of Gardein Beefless Tips
White onion, chopped
1 bunch of cilantro chopped
Vegan Sour Cream mixed with sriracha
FYH Pepper Jack Cheese Slices
Pico, optional
Oil for frying
Gordita Ingredients:
2 cups of Instant Masa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon chicken flavor
1 1/3 cup of water
Directions:
In a medium sauce pan add a little oil
Heat over medium-high heat
Add in your beefless tips
Heat turning often
White heating chop into tiny pieces
Continue to cook until browned
Remove from pan
In the same pan add your beans, beefless cube and salt
Heat over medium high until most of the water is gone
Turn off heat
Prepare Gorditas
Combine all ingredients into a large bowl
Mix well
Form into 2” balls and press flat with hands
Sealing cracks with wet fingers
Place onto a hot griddle and fry on each side for 1-2 minutes
Remove and repeat with remaining dough
Heat roughly ¼ inch deep of oil in frying pan
When oil is hot add in your masa patties
Fry on each side for 3-4 minutes
They should be puffed and browned
Remove and drain on paper towel
When cooled slightly cut open
Place a slice of cheese down
Followed by beans, beefless tips
Top with cilantro, onions and sour cream
Serve and enjoy
