'Shrimp' Toast

Growing up I used to eat at a restaurant called Chin Chins here in Los Angeles. My dad would always order us the shrimp toast to start. It was so good that 1 order was never enough. I finally can enjoy those flavors again without harming any animals! Yum!!! Its a must try!

6 sliced of THICK bread

1 package Gardein fishless fillets, prepared and cooled

1 tablespoon of garlic or 3 garlic cloves minced

1 tablespoon of soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 ener-g egg, prepared

1/3 cup flour

Salt and pepper

Oil for frying

Directions:

Chop your prepared fish fillets, should be shredded like

In a large bowl mix remaining ingredients (minus the oil)

Mix well to form a thick paste

Heat your oil in a frying pan, 1-1/2 inches deep

Remove crust from bread and cut each slice into 4 triangles

Top each bread with a generous amount of paste, press down*

Place paste side down into hot oil

Fry for 3 minutes, until golden brown

Carefully flip and fry 1-2 minutes until golden

Remove and drain on paper towel

Repeat with remaining paste and bread

Serve with sweet and sour sauce

*Don’t add paste too early to bread, the longer it sits before frying the more soggy the bread will be
